Craving a sweet snack? Well I was today. Actually, I always love a sweet treat —> major sweet tooth right here. But of course it’s not healthy or balanced to sit and eat ice cream and cookies whenever you want something sweet! Your body won’t respond happily either. Consuming too many refined sugars will store fat, slow down your metabolism, and make you feel sluggish – and that’s just a few of the downsides. Luckily, there are tons of healthy alternatives I turn to when I’m looking for sweets. What’s the point of putting all that bad stuff in your body when there are so many other healthy options anyway?!
That being said, I made a huge fruit bowl to keep in the fridge for the week. It’s freshly sliced watermelon, mango, cantaloupe, and honey dew. I made a superfood berry bowl to stick in the fridge as well, overflowing with fresh blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries.
Yes, there’s more, of course! I also threw together some of my Lo-Cal Apple Cinnamon Chips, and stuck them in the oven for a crunchier, crispier sweet treat to have around the house for throughout the week. There are only a few ingredients, and you probably have some of them in the house already, making this an easy AND affordable recipe. Baking this recipe takes about 2 hours, but it’s so worth the time – not to mention the aroma of fresh apples and cinnamon that fills your home as they bake. You can find this recipe on my “Recipes” page.
Remember: healthy fridge = healthy home = healthy life = healthy lifestyle.
Stay healthy. Stay sweet. Much love. 🙂
