Hello, my friends! So very sorry I’ve been MIA these last few weeks. The truth is, I have been away in the sweet solitude of paradise, and oh my was it wonderful and much needed. But I am back, rested, and ready to continuing blogging away! I thought it would be best to fill you all in on this fabulous, luxurious getaway I just returned from, because too few people know about this place.
Now, I’ve been to Cancun, Mexico a bunch of times. Most of these trips were spring break-esque or group related, as most would assume when they hear the words “vacation in Cancun.” However, this was a completely different kind of Cancun experience than what I’ve had in the past, and I must say I can’t wait to do it again. I stayed at the most relaxing, luxurious, sophisticated resort I’ve visited anywhere – and although you’d never believe it if you experienced this resort, the best part is that it was all-inclusive! If you want quiet beaches, excellent service, and royal VIP treatment from start to finish, this is the place to go…
Sandos Cancun is a small boutique resort perfectly nestled away on the beaches of Cancun. It is centrally located, yet completely different than the large resorts you’d find along Cancun’s coast. It’s small, quiet, and defines relaxation and luxury. From the top notch service, to the large marble rooms, to the seemingly private beach (we were the only ones sometimes rocking away on our beach bed to the sound of crashing teal waves) and infinity pools, to the fabulous spa, everything at Sandos Cancun is an all around 10! I’ve been on quite a few vacations, many of them being all-inclusive resorts, and I am along the lines of speechless when it comes to Sandos Cancun.
Upon arrival we were greeted with washcloths soaked in cold water and fresh lemon, chilled champagne, and I was handed a beautiful red rose. With a simple request, Sandos was kind enough to provide us with a complimentary upgrade to a room with a balcony and a breathtaking view of the ocean, pool, and lagoon. We didn’t know which direction to look in! No worries though, we spent plenty of time relaxing out there taking each angle of beauty in. Our room was clean, fresh, big, and beautiful (all toiletries were Molten Brown, which I was SUPER excited about!) Since Sandos is a petite resort, it was a quick trip to the pools and beach each morning, where the mimosas and cocktails flowed all day with impeccable beach and poolside service, and we munched on fresh and healthy snacks like fresh guacamole and jumbo shrimp cocktail.
We contacted the spa and decided to have ocean side massages which took place right on the beach. Accompanied by the ocean breeze, crashing waves, and soaring birds, Sandos goes all out at sunset with tiki torches, rose petals scattered along the sand, and then completes the massage with chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne for an unforgettable and romantic sunset toast.
I’ve saved the most jaw dropping aspect of Sandos Cancun for last: the food, the food, oh my goodness, the food! Not only is the food at Sandos Cancun worlds beyond what most would expect from any all-inclusive resort, but it ranks up there with the best of any culinary experience I’ve had here in Manhattan. The fine wine is always flowing, and from the healthy and fresh avocado ravioli and tuna tar tar appetizers, to the perfectly pink filet mignon and melt in your mouth seabass, to the sweet fusion custards and fresh fruit desserts, Sandos is on point with all of their menu options. The attention to detail at Sandos Cancun is impressive and impeccable – the executive chef even created some custom made dishes just for us. He mixes food with art and masterpieces are created in the kitchen. We literally couldn’t stop eating because the food just kept getting better and better. There are so many light and healthy options as well, so I was in healthy foodie heaven! I have to be honest, there are few words to describe the quality of this food, so I will simply post pictures below and let your mouth start to water all on its own!

So now do you understand why I have no words to describe the deliciousness of the food we experienced at Sandos Cancun?! And this is just a few of the gorgeous dishes we had the privilege of experiencing. Class, elegance, luxury and sophistication define this resort. I could go on and on with photos and reviews about this memorable getaway. Our only issue: this trip coming to an end. If you’re looking for a fabulous, affordable, luxurious and relaxing getaway, check out Sandos Cancun. You will not be disappointed and you will not want to come back to reality!
Stay adventurous. Stay fabulous. Stay at Sandos Cancun!
