It’s all summer vibes in the city tonight as I’m sippin’ on some of my homemade iced tea on this beautiful June evening.  It’s refreshing, fruity, and fresh as could be!

Now, there are two main reasons for why I prefer to make my own homemade iced tea, and they are:

1.  It’s less costly.

2.  I know exactly what ingredients are being used.

Since summer has finally arrived, I decided to add a little twist to today’s iced tea.  I made an iced green tea, and infused it with freshly sliced lemon, mango, and strawberries.  This is such an easy recipe, and you can make TONS of different variations, depending on the type of tea bags you use, and the fruits you infuse with.

Some other teas I enjoy iced and infused: black tea, mango green tea, mint tea, chamomile tea, lavender tea, cranberry tea, cinnamon tea, orange tea, lemon tea

Some of my favorite fruits/herbs to infuse with: lemon, blueberries, strawberries, oranges, mango, mint, cinnamon sticks, cranberries, rasberries, blackberries

Some iced tea brands you’d buy at the store have up to 30 grams of sugar per serving!  You’re taking in unhealthy calories that slow your metabolism and give you a sugar rush that results in a sugar crash.  By drinking homemade iced tea infused with natural sugars, you’re providing your body with antioxidants, natural sugars, and a sustained form of energy that won’t result in you feeling tired again.  When you strain the fruits (see recipe) you’ll see how all of the sugars have been fused into the boiling water.

Who needs refined sugars that cost more and aren’t as good for you?  Calm your mind, soothe your soul, and create your very own recipe with fruit infused iced teas.  The ice cold tea combined with the flavors of fresh fruit creates a unique flavor, and it’s fun to experiment with different teas and fruits to find out what your favorite combos are!
