All of this winter weather has been making me feel just a bit off and tired lately.  Between the crazy morning commute, being snowed in during these storms, and trekking it to the gym after long, cold days, the brutal city winter has been taking its toll and showing no sign of stopping!

I’ve decided to do my homemade FSS Detoxification Juice Cleanse for the next few days to get my body feeling energized, pure, and detoxified!

FSS Detoxification Juice Cleanse

I suggest liquid cleansing like this whenever you feel tired, sluggish, or bloated.  If your body is telling you it’s off, a detox cleanse will works wonders and help your body, mind, skin, and soul bounce back!

Want some more good news? Unlike most strict juice cleanses you’ve read about, if you’re nervous or having difficulties sticking to strict liquid cleansing, you can eat minimally on my FSS cleansenot a lot, but a little something if you’re having a hard time JUST drinking all day without chewing on some food.  This craving is our human habit, and it is only natural – listen to your body.

These are some foods that I can personally suggest, as I have eaten them throughout my juice cleanse in the past, and have still been very pleased with the results:

– 1 ripe avocado sliced with sea salt and garlic powder

– 2 portobello mushroom caps topped with fresh basil, sea salt, and garlic powder, baked on 350 for 10-15 minutes (until juices are releasing)

– steamed (in only about an inch of water) tofu, mushrooms, and spinach topped with sea salt and black pepper

– steamed (same water rule applies) medley of fresh vegetables (ex: spinach, onion, mushrooms, water chestnuts)

– 1 skinless baked sweet potato, wrapped in foil, baked on 375 for 35-40 min (remove skin after taking it out of the oven – it will slide right off)

– 1 large mashed sweet potato (peel, chop, boil until soft, mash)

This cleanse will still be effective if you eat one small minimal, low carb/low sugar/clean meal like the examples provided above each day.  However, if you’re looking for maximum benefits with your detoxification, stick to the basic cleanse recipe and practice straight juicing all the way through.
