On a cold winter night, many of us crave a warm, hardy meal fresh from the oven. The downside about many of these go-to meals is that lots of them are loaded with unhealthy fats and carbs, grease, sodium, refined sugars, and other unnatural ingredients that (if eaten daily) expand the waistline rather than slim it down, and among other reactions, may cause bloating, breakouts, and constipation. Eating like this periodically is perfectly fine, of course! However, it’s very unhealthy to eat like this on a regular basis. This will impact your lifestyle no matter what the weather may be.
Remember, you are what you eat. If you eat mostly unnatural, processed food, you’ll feel unhealthy and sluggish as a long term result. If the majority of your food intake is natural and healthy, then feeling energized, lean, and awake will simply become a part your overall Fit Soul and Spice lifestyle. Eating healthy can also significantly boost your mood and curb stress, making you feel more positive and motivated to get out, get moving, and get fit. It’s a chain reaction.
Hence the word that defines FSS: lifestyle!
This brings me to today’s healthy alternative recipe; a natural, lean, flavorful meal that can be served hot from the oven on a cold winter night. It’s rich, hardy, and easy/affordable to whip together for a party of two or ten! Today’s recipe is:
Fit Soul and Spice’s
Dairy Free Vegetable Lasagna Towers topped with a Fresh AvoBasil Puree
Steer away from unhealthy choices with this FSS dish. It’s rich, creamy, flavorful, and very satisfying (consider making extras!). Best of all, this meal is natural, healthy, low fat, low carb, low sugar, and full of beneficial nutrients and vitamins.
